William Freney Signs New Two-Year Deal with Perth Glory
P11 Football client William Freney has signed a new two-year contract with Perth Glory, extending his stay with the A-League club as he continues his impressive development at senior level.
The 20-year-old midfielder has enjoyed a rapid rise in recent seasons and further established himself as a key member of the Glory squad during the 2025/26 campaign. After breaking into the first team the previous year, Freney built on that momentum by making 23 appearances last season, including 19 starts in midfield.
His consistency and growing influence in the centre of the park were reflected in the numbers, completing 652 successful passes at an accuracy rate of 81.4%, creating 12 chances and winning 103 duels across the season.
Perth Glory Football Director Stan Lazaridis praised Freney’s development and highlighted the club’s excitement for his future.
“Will is developing into an excellent central midfielder and has become a really key part of the squad. He’s still learning certain aspects of his role, but he’s quick to take information on board and has great energy and drive.
