Madiodio Dia Completes Move to Portsmouth FC
P11 Football are delighted to confirm that our player Madiodio Dia has completed a permanent transfer to Portsmouth FC, joining the Championship side from Norwegian club FK Haugesund.
The 22-year-old Senegalese centre-back has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract at Fratton Park, marking an exciting new chapter in his rapidly developing career.
Dia arrives in England with valuable senior experience and a growing reputation as a powerful, aggressive defender. Standing tall and commanding in duels, he brings real physicality and presence to Portsmouth’s defensive options — qualities that made him a standout profile during the recruitment process.
Speaking following the signing, Portsmouth head coach John Mousinho said:

He’s a tall and aggressive defender who will add some real physicality to our back-line and exactly fits the type of profile we were looking for. Dia began his football journey in Senegal with ASC Linguère, where his physical attributes and defensive instincts quickly stood out. In the summer of 2023, he made the move to Europe, signing for FK Haugesund in Norway. A subsequent loan spell at Egersund provided further senior exposure, before he made his top-flight debut against reigning champions Bodø/Glimt the following season.
The move to Portsmouth represents a significant step forward, offering the opportunity to test himself in English football and continue his development at a historic club with strong ambitions.
